Abstract

The neighborhood is the primary and fundamental space in the construction of the identity of each individual, it is the place where the first extra-family relationships are generated, where socialization begins and is formed in the role of active citizen through participation in this space. In the history of the Atalaya neighborhood we can see reflected, in a smaller dimension, the history of Argentina from the 40s and 50s. First, the active role of the State, giving way to the slogan of Social Justice through the construction of neighborhoods for workers from different sectors. On the other hand, the political intolerance and abandonment of the state reflected in two periods, with the beginning of the Liberation Revolution, abandonment of the Eva Perón plan, which was renamed the Economic Housing Plan, and then, in addition, with the implementation of the neoliberal economic programs of the 70s and 90s (National reorganization process and Menemist period until the 2001 crisis). But it can also be seen as a resignifying process that, in the face of abandonment of the State, begins as new: that of the organization, that of the space of man, that which generates and gives identity, which arises with the appearance of fomentism, and gives rise to to neighborhood, cultural and health institutions.

    Profesor en Historia y Filosofía. Actualmente se encuentra finalizando la Licenciatura en Historia. Ejerce como docente de educación secundaria en escuelas de Matanza desde el año 1998 y desde 2012 ejerce como docente del Instituto Superior de Formación Docente N° 82 de Isidro Casanova en las carreras de Historia, Psicología, Cs. Políticas y Filosofía.
