First stage - Carta Informativa de la Junta de Estudios Históricos del Partido de La Matanza
ISSN 1852-2467 (paper) / ISSN 1852-2483 (email)
Everything in life fulfills its cycle and then leaves room for the new. This is what happened with the magazine called the Carta Informativa de la Junta de Estudios Hist´óricos del Partido de La Matanza. Its first issue was born shortly after the Junta Histórica was installed, a unit of the Universidad Nacional La Matanza (UNLaM), which in Its origins acted within the orbit of the Secretaría de Ciencia y Tecnología and was the body of dissemination of its task.
Years later, due to the impetus given both to research and to the dissemination of its results and in response to the demands of the community, it began to be produced within the Secretaría de Extensión Universitaria.
If that founding stage had to be given a name, it would be called the "artisanal moment", because everything was yet to be built and turned on.
Over the years, the paradigms of the academic world were transferred to its texts and it became a scientific publication dedicated to disseminating knowledge about the municipality de La Matanza, from a historical perspective.
Its recipients covered the entire national scope and at present, its different numbers are found in the main libraries dedicated to historical science.
Later, another one in digital format was added to the broadcast on paper and there the cycle began to close.
Currently, the need to have a journal specialized in history that appears in the main world indices of Social Sciences led to the creation of a new publication that maintains the spirit of the one that was a pioneer in the municipality and in the University, but that meets with the requirements that this need imposes on us.
Thus, Antigua Matanza was born, a regional history magazine that succeeded the first local history magazine. The first four issues were published on the website antigua.unlam.edu.ar and the review process is carried out through email, with the members of the editorial committee serving as mediators with the authors and external reviewers, to maintain the double blind.
With the intention of advancing in the cataloging and indexing of the journal, its content has been migrated to the OJS system (Open Journal Systems) in June 2018.
