The Antigua Matanza Journal is edited by the Junta de Estudios Históricos de La Matanza, dependency of the Secretaría de Extensión of the Universidad Nacional de La Matanza, last responsible institution, located in Florencio Varela 1903, San Justo, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Director of the publication is the contact and main person in charge of the journal. Antigua Matanza has two editorial teams in its structure: Editorial Policy Committee and Editorial Committee.

On its organization and functions:
The Editorial Committee consists of a General Director, Executive Editors, and Associate Editors.
The general director is considered an authority in the scientific field of the journal's topic and belongs to the institution responsible for its publication.
Associate Editors have expertise in the subject matter and relevant publications in the field of history and regional history. They are responsible for initially determining whether submitted articles are pertinent to the scope and focus of the journal.
Executive Editors handle the editorial workflow needs (text review, translation, marketing, etc.). They are the contacts throughout the process, maintaining communication with both authors and the Scientific Committee members who will review the articles. They also oversee stylistic corrections as deemed necessary, encourage authors to complete the editorial process, and promote calls for article submissions. In this latter capacity, they commit to ensuring continuous manuscript reception without interruption for any reason.
The Editorial Committee as a whole operates according to principles of equality, objectivity, impartiality, and current copyright regulations.
